To state my position on abortion, I am pro-choice. In other words, my stance is right in line with Planned Parenthood and NARAL. Now I am a Catholic. The Pope has given priests the power to forgive abortions. He understands the complexity of the issue. Take as a theoretical example an underage girl who was molested by her stepfather and becomes pregnant. She should be able to walk into an abortion clinic and receive an abortion for free without parental permission in my opinion. As another theoretical example let's take a grown woman who is the victim of rape and becomes pregnant. She should be able to receive a free abortion if that's what she wants, no waiting period, no red tape, no pencil pushers delaying the procedure, and generally no nonsense. And if this is a sin I'll be the first one at confession for enabling it. This is one reason why I can't be a Republican.
